More about Canal Boat Weekend Trip in Bradford-on-Avon
-
A canal boat weekend in Bath is an absolute must if you're looking to break the mould of the typical city break. Skipper your own narrowboat and cruise along the Kennett & Avon canal.
Your time on-board will allow you time to explore the canal and stunning countryside, and you'll encounter a lock and swing bridge along the way to add a bit of intrigue amongst your fellow sailors.
Most bath canal stag groups plan a stop of two at the pubs along the route. We have a route plan available below to give you some ideas. On the other hand if you prefer to stay on board the boat and take in all the stunning scenery and calmness, then why not bring your own picnic & drinks.
All boats are kitted out with the facilities you'd find at home - a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, central heating and 240v power source for the all important phone charge!
FYI, don't worry about having prior experience. These trips are suitable for beginners and you'll be given full instruction on the handling, features and safety of the boat to ensure a safe journey.

MORE INFO:
1) Boat images are for illustrative purposes.
2) All trips include a collision damage waiver, but there is a fuel charge to pay on return of the boats (£20-£40 per boat for a weekend trip) - this is payable to the boatyard directly when you drop the boats back.
3) ***SECURITY DEPOSIT*** there is a refundable damage deposit of £1000 per boat, due 1 week prior to departure. This will be refunded on safe return of the boats at the completion of your trip.
4) Pick up the boat from 2pm. If you return the boat on Sunday rather than Monday, the boat needs to be returned by 4pm. Please double check this return time when you pick up.
5) Bedding
Duvets, pillows, and bed linen shall be placed on each berth, but making up of the beds is the responsibility of the hirer.
This is conditional on the following and is in addition to the standard Single Sex Group Conditions:
i) Deposits shall not be returned until 72hrs after the last date of hire so, for clarity, money will leave our account on a Thursday. This means that receipt by the client should be overnight Thursday (unless a non-UK mainstream bank for which processing time may take longer). The extended period of time is to allow for a full linen check to be carried out for each boat.
ii) Any linen or bedding that is soiled beyond likely laundering will be charged for at the following rates: Pillow case £3.50; Single sheet £7; Single Duvet cover £14. Pillow £6, single duvet £20. The Company's (our) decision will be absolute in this respect and we will not be pre-advising the hirer of such deductions in advance because, by definition, the hirer is no longer there and we are not able to individually check each item of linen/ bedding in their presence as being too time- consuming during the busy return period.
iii) For reference, any bedding that has been vomited on will automatically be destroyed and charged for. Any linen that has been used to wipe floors or has been stood on will be automatically destroyed (because modern laundry processes are 90% unlikely to be able to fully remove such staining).
